What Happens If You Don't Do Integration After Ketamine Assisted Therapy?
What happens when you skip integration after ketamine therapy? Oakland ketamine therapist Olivia Clear on the neuroplastic window, what ketamine integration actually looks like, and why the medicine alone isn't enough.
The Research Behind Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
Ketamine doesn't just lift mood. It may create a window where the nervous system can finally update old threat responses, the ones that haven't shifted no matter how much you've talked about them. The medicine opens a window. What you do with that window determines whether anything actually changes.
Myth of Healing Alone
“You don’t need a plan to heal—just a moment of connection. Whether it’s a brushstroke, a shared breath, or the courage to be seen, transformation begins not in isolation, but in relationship.”

Attachment in Poly Relationships
“Polyamorous relationships ask us to live with intention, spaciousness, and emotional range. But that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. When attachment wounds show up—through jealousy, fear, or the ache of disconnection—they’re not signs that something’s wrong with you. They’re invitations to listen more deeply. In our work together, we won’t pathologize your way of loving. We’ll explore what’s underneath, with curiosity and care, and help your system find more capacity to hold all that complexity.”
Do Dreams Have Meaning?
Dreams have been a long-standing subject of study in the field of psychology and provide a wealth of information to dreamers . Why? Dreams are communications from your unconscious mind.
Don’t worry; this isn’t going to be a lecture about psychology. If you aren’t interested in the field, you probably don’t want the nitty-gritty details. That’s okay, but what we’re covering is still important to you and I’ll tell you why.
Our dreams are provide an expression of our thoughts and many believe they hold the keys to unlocking our inner struggles. A psychotherapist by the name of Carl Jung believed this, too, as he felt that dreams could show us a lot about ourselves. More specifically, he felt if we focused on the symbolism of our dreams we might get an idea of what those dreams are trying to tell us.
He believed that dreams are specific to the individual and this is very true. Dreams show us our inner desires, inner struggles, and so much more that could lead us toward the path to self-healing.
Coping with COVID Anxiety
There are many common reactions to stress about Coronavirus including: fear about being infected or having friends and family be impacted, worry, feelings of helplessness, anger, hypervigilance, feelings of panic, and difficulty concentrating or sleeping, to name a few! Stress is a sign that your nervous system has perceived a threat and is taking action to keep you safe. The sympathetic nervous system reacts with “flight/fight/freeze” responses such as sweating, racing heart, increased adrenaline, spiraling thoughts, trouble sleeping, and rumination. These feelings may motivate you to prepare for a potentially dangerous situation, cause you to ‘shut down’ via freeze, or encourage a variety of other responses based on your life experiences.
The Feeling of Intuition
Intuition is our uncanny ability to just know something, without really thinking about it logically. It’s that little voice in the back of your head, telling you that you should do this or consider that without really being clear as to why.
But wait… Isn’t that what instinct is?
Not exactly, but it’s easy to see where the confusion is. See, there’s an important distinction to be made when you want to define intuitive and something instinctive.
Instinct urges you to take action, but it’s usually caused by something in your environment. It’s your body’s natural response to certain elements around you, telling you to do something for the sake of self-preservation.
Then how does intuition come into play?
Intuition is similar but not quite the same. Remember, with instinct we have a known reason for why we’re acting as we are but with intuition, we don’t see what’s causing the sensation. It’s usually more of a phantom feeling, giving warning of something that might come and often, we don’t know what that something is until much later. That’s the main difference.
